Mir Nabi’s first interview after his release from enemy detention, he was kept imprisoned for 8 years on charges of resisting the Pakistani occupation of Balochistan. The interview was conducted by a local news agency in Quetta on 29 November.

Scripts of interview:

Neither the charter of 1940 nor the provincial autonomy is the headache of Baloch people, occupiers know very well that what Balochs want but still they are denying the fact. The enemy has meticulously made our land Balochistan a hell for us, our land has been created into a symbol of terror and fear. If Balochistan is a hell for Baloch then someone doesn’t think that it will be a paradise for others.

The so-called reconciliation efforts by Pakistan are deception and drama, to cover-up the reality, and we strongly reject it. Arrests, missing of people and military operations are still going on, talking of reconciliation in these conditions is like befooling Baloch people.

Baloch is not only a name of a people it also signifies loyalty with motherland and resoluteness. However history determines honesty and patriotism. Baloch people admire Akbar Bugti’s “Today” not the “Yesterday” of Raziq Bugti. Akbar Bugti embraced martyrdom in his old age for motherland. If we found a former veteran collaborating with the enemy his punishment should be same as of enemy.

Some of our own Balochs are hushed up on the happenings so how can I taunt Pashtuns. With respect I can’t say anything on the silent of Pashtuns. The criminal-like aloofness of settlers and their treachery with Balochistan is unpardonable.

The Baloch have a very bad experience of parliamentarian politics of Pakistan, nevertheless if a “Baloch” feels that Pakistani parliament can solve the miseries of Balochistan he/she can join it, but we cannot believe in Pakistani system.

Baloch people have become conscious and they know very well that nobody will present them independence in a plate. For our freedom we have to fight and we are doing it, and Baloch people have no other option but to kill or be killed. Baloch national movement is progressing through its fruition and development process and one can say, “Our destination is far but not so far that we can’t reach it”.

Baloch people have given me a lot of love and respect, I am just praying that not to betray their hopes, which they expect from me.

During imprisonment I read newspapers and studied Quran, political prisoners kept in different cells that’s why we discussed little politics. I was tortured psychologically too but thanks god I become unashamed in front of my nation.

BSO has played a very important and a significant role in Baloch national movement, BSO deserves admiration. In the past it was a bad omen in Baloch society to let women outside of their homes. But now Baloch women are doing an important responsibility, I think it is the gain of Baloch national movement.

Unity is the best weapon for Baloch people to fight the occupation, unity not only have good results but it is the only way to our destination and victory.
